We are Looking for Light artists!!! http://lightart-biennale.com
The Biennale of light art Austria 2010 is an exhibition of contemporary art dealing with light which is first established in 2010.
General informations
The slogan of the „ Biennale für Lichtkunst Austria 2010“ is „private light in public spaces“ and takes place in Austria within the project “LALA”. LALA means Linz (Austria) and Langenzersdorf (Austria), whre the two initiators have their ateliers. Linz has been the cultural capital of Austria 2009, and the city is established in the cultural landscape by the Msueum Lentos, the Ars Electronca Center and the Brucknerhaus. Langenezersdorf , a township in neighbourhood of Vienna, has two museums for famous Austrian sculptors, the Hanak-Museum and the Charoux-Museum. At April 13 th 2010 the National Biennale of light art starts by presenting artwork in public spaces.
The artist from all over the world are invited to show their light projects in streets and squares and public buildings, trying to empathise with the place and the people who frequent these places or simply work there.
Already finished artwork is sown as well as artwork especially created for that Biennale. The keyword are light-art, public an private, which build the triangle of eagerness.
The organisation team of the „Nationale Biennale für Lichtkunst Austria 2010“ is lead by Martina Schettina from Langenzersdorf and Manfred Kielnhofer from Linz.

spaces are selected by the artists themselves There is no border and no linitation, so every artist has the most possible liberty of action. The reaction of passangers will be different, because they are rapidly transmitted into captive audience. The public may come in the first contact with art at all, but it is also possible, that people who come by are firm with art.
Concept
This first National Biennale für Light Art in Austria has wants to generate a cut surface between society and art. The spontaneous conjunction with art in public spaces leans on the art concept of Joseph Beuys from 1965 “How to define the paintings to the dead reabbit” in Düsseldorf.
There should arise a dialogue between art and public.
Artists
Among the selected artist will be light artists as well as artists, who use light i art for their first time. The use of light will transform art in a higher level.
Sponsoring
The Biennale is powered by Sponsoring the Austrian country, the cities and townships, which provides the artists with public squares, streets and buildings free of charge. More sponsorers are welcome.
Opening Hours
The opening hours of the Biennale are 24/7, it is open around the clock. The possibility to have a look at a rising artwork, depends on fortune. Only the artist know where and when their artwork is installed, and how long it is exhibited.
